Scour the news for an entirely uninteresting story. Consider how it connects to your life. Write about that.
The story I read was about Aboriginal children not getting enough money for education. These children live in remote areas of Australia so there are a lot of challenging situations to overcome.
At first glance this story was of no interest to me for a number of reasons. Firstly I have no interest in education, there is nothing exciting or stimulating in the story so all it got from me was a quick skim over.
I need to find something to stir up my deeper emotions don’t I?
The prompt then asked for me to consider how this story connects to my life.
The common factor between this story and my life is education. The education I have had has given me what could be called a good life. How can I not deny these young children the education that is needed for them to get the most out of their lives. This leads me to think of the togetherness that exists between all of humanity. We are all connected. All of us wish for others what we wish for ourselves.
What I have realised since writing this short story is that we all are used to shallow thinking. We all need to practise deeper thinking especially with what we are told from the Media. Deeper thinking exposes Principles which are self evident truths, and these truths could expose the methods thrown at us as totally false.
Just maybe there could be a way for us as individuals to learn from our mistakes! mmm!
