Biting my Fingernails

Describe one habit that brings you joy.

Whether I’m sitting on a chair
or lying on a bed,
I cannot get my feet in my mouth
so I bite my fingernails instead.

Then when I put my fingers on my Violin fingerboard, the slight movement I make changes the pitch slightly. This change in pitch is called vibrato. Having short fingernails makes the tips of my fingers more pliable so I find it easier to add a little or a lot of vibrato and along with bow pressure provided by the right arm, I am able to apply what is called musical expression. Since musical expression comes from the heart centre and not the thinking mind, it is totally natural, so the sound of the music is now more in alignment with the true nature of the listener. That’s one habit that brings me joy.

The thinking mind only thinks of the past or the future and can control you.. Don’t think! stay in the Now moment and allow mother nature to be your guide. ‘Music Soothes the Sole’.
